Safety Gloves
Hand protection selected for cutting, abrasion, heat, chemical or other identified task hazards.
Safety Gloves: purpose and application
Safety gloves are not one universal product. A glove that handles abrasion in a warehouse may be unsuitable for chemicals, energized electrical work or high temperatures. The task, contact duration, dexterity and exposure determine the required protection. Using gloves around moving machinery may introduce entanglement risks that need task-specific assessment.
Selection and specification
Specify the hazard, material being handled, size range and required performance marking. For chemical work, identify the substance and concentration so permeation and breakthrough information can be reviewed. For cuts or heat, request the relevant tested performance for the exact model. Confirm whether gloves are reusable, disposable or require a defined cleaning procedure.
Installation, inspection and limitations
Inspect for tears, hardening, contamination, seam damage and loss of grip. Follow the manufacturer cleaning and replacement requirements. A glove should not be reused after an exposure that compromises its performance. Users need training on removal and storage as well as on choosing the correct pair for the task.

Common questions
Can one glove cover every industrial task?
No. Chemical, electrical, cutting and heat hazards require different performance. Select gloves from the task assessment and product documentation.
