Landing Valve
Landing valve enquiries for building risers with verified outlet, inlet and operating requirements.
Landing Valve: purpose and application
Landing valves provide firefighting outlets on an arranged building riser or hydrant installation. Their location must allow trained responders to connect and operate equipment without blocked access. The riser arrangement, supply and outlet specification determine whether a valve is suitable. Supplying an isolated component does not establish that the riser can deliver the required flow.
Selection and specification
Specify inlet connection, nominal size, outlet type, pressure class and body material. The outlet direction and handwheel clearance matter inside a cabinet or stair enclosure. Confirm the intended wet or dry system arrangement and project requirements. Replacement work should include photographs and dimensions of the existing valve and its mating connections.
Installation, inspection and limitations
Check for leaks, missing caps, damaged threads or couplings and difficult operation. Keep the outlet identifiable and clear of storage. Repairs need planned isolation and testing followed by confirmed restoration. Do not use firefighting outlets for routine water consumption or alter their configuration without engineering review.
What to confirm before ordering
- 01Riser type and valve position
- 02Inlet and hose outlet dimensions
- 03Pressure class and clearances
- 04Caps, signage and testing
Common questions
Can a landing valve be replaced with any valve of the same size?
No. The connection, pressure rating, arrangement and project specification also need to match.
